Reviews of Wojciech Waleczek’s latest Liszt`s album „Weihnachtsbaum” („Christmas Trea”) have recently appeared in the press.

Excerpts from them can be found below:

„…Waleczek creates a beautiful atmosphere in ‘Evening Bells’, with rich tones from the piano, particularly in the bass range. He prefers a very slow andante in ‘Formerly’ and uses the technique of breaking the hands to heighten the poignancy… The Wiegenlied, a pared-down version of the opening of the symphonic poem Von der Wiege bis zum Grabe, is taken extraordinarily slowly, but the line is beautifully maintained throughout…” Patrick Rucker, Grampophone, December, 2024

„…Wojciech Walczek has the chops to play Liszt’s knuckle-busters. But he dials it back. We get a performance that’s sensitive and warm. I’ll be adding this to my classical holiday playlists. And you’ll definitely be hearing it on my radio program…” Ralph Graves, Charlottesville Classical, 27th of November, 2024

„…Waleczek approaches these pieces with a muted playfulness and quiet command, always reverent with a sparkle in its eye…” Michael Bailey, Wild Mercury Rythm, 16th of December, 2024
